Edita is the founder and owner of Revive Family Counseling in Fort Myers Est in 2018. Edita is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Qualified Supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling Graduates seeking licensure in the state of FL.
Edita has moved to the United States from her home country of Slovakia in early adulthood. She speaks multiple languages including English, Slovak and Hungarian.
Edita’s vision for ‘Revive’ grew out of her “passion to help people grow, achieve their highest potential and live fulfilled lives”.
Edita’s mission for ‘Revive’ is to “provide our community with skilled and vetted clinicians to help clients feels confident in choosing to seek help and transform their lives”.
Edita studied at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She continued her studies at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in the humanities field and earned her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to opening her private practice, Edita worked for a non-profit company in Fort Myers for nine years, where she was helping, supporting, and counseling terminally ill patients and their grieving and bereaved families as well as staff members dealing with secondary traumas. She earned her License in Marriage and Family Therapy in the state of Florida in 2012 and Qualified Supervisor License in 2018. Edita supervises and mentors MFT and MHC- Masters/Doctorate Level graduates seeking licensure in the state of FL.
Edita’s education and background is in working with children, teens, adults, couples and families utilizing a systemic strength based approach to healing. Edita enjoys working with couples and individuals experiencing challenges in their relationship, as well as helping them find their desired outcome, peace and contentment. She implements creative interventions designed to help children thrive in life despite having to adjust to new lifestyles following major life changes. Edita is a big advocate of self growth and self love. She also has experience working with people of all ages who have suffered various traumas, grief, bereavement, anxieties, depression, etc.
Edita’s hobbies include tennis, travelling and spending time with family. Edita takes pride in having a supportive husband and a large blended family, including three of her biological children and two ‘bonus’ children (bonus= step). Edita is working as an independent private counselor and contracting with community agencies and EAP providers in Lee&Collier Counties and surrounding areas.
